A Glance at Traces of Psychoanalysis in Saadi's Sonnets with Emphasis on Anima

Message:
Abstract:
Literature and poetry are one of the main manifestations of human civilization and a ground for the emergence of deep layers of the unconscious that has always reminded man’s consciousness of its presence for different reasons and has manifested itself in different domains. One of these domains is art and the poetic world. To psychoanalysts, art and whatever included in the artistic world are manifestations of the unconscious mind of the artists that, at times, includes all the inherited history of art, and results in the creation of great and repeated subjects in literature, poetry and art. Anima or the female side hidden in a man’s unconsciousness manifests itself more apparently in products which depend more on the unconscious. This study examines traces of Anima in Saadi’s poems and, with the help of psychoanalytic symbols, indicates the similarities of the beloved in his poetry, the concept of Anima in Jung’s theory, and the relation between Saadi’s subject matter and Anima.
