An Investigation of the Completion of Molavi's Mathnavi

One of the unsolved mysteries about Mathnavi is its completion or incompletion before Molavi's death. Some scholars believe that death, agedness or disease resulted in the incompletion of Mathnavi, other scholars claim that Molavi completed Mathnavi a few years before his death. The results of this article–based on library-research and content analysis– show that not only Molavi completed Mathnavi during his lifetime, its edition and writing has been carried out under his own supervision as well. Moreover, the story of Shahzadegan (The Princes) is not left incomplete, and it is the story of mystical journey of wayfarers whose love has neither beginning nor ending.
