An Investigation into the Relationship between Personality Traits and Marital Satisfaction of the Health Center's Married Staff

The current study aimed to investigate the relationship between personality traits and marital satisfaction of the health centers’ married staff. To conduct this descriptive and correlational study¡ 107 married staff of Tabriz health centers were selected using convenience sampling. All participants were asked to complete marital satisfaction questionnaire (Enrich¡ 1989) and six factors HEXACO personality questionnaire (Ashton and Lee¡ 2009). The data were analyzed by conducting Pearson correlation and regression analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between personality traits and marital satisfaction. Regression analysis showed that the traits conscientiousness and emotionality are the best predictors of marital satisfaction. Thus¡ according to the results¡ marital satisfaction is closely related to the personality traits.
