Abstract:
The motive behind the segregation school, as it has been designed and proposed, is an understanding of religiouse belifes and teachings free from eclecticism mixing religious teachings with philosophical and mysitical views. The claim of this school is that religious understanding can be disentangled from philosophical interpetations inconsistent with the literal religion and that man’s ultimate felicity lies in this disentanglement. The key focus of this theological school is on ontology that it is through ontology that one can appreciate the epistemological issues. The present article is an attempt to explore the ontological principles of segregation school. The conclusion is that most of the ontological views presented in this school are biased against transcendental wisdom as they are mostly aimed at rejecting transcendental philosophical views. For this reason its basic principles lose ground to the extent that one cannot even attribute them to Islmic traditions. It should acknowledged that the originators and commentators of this school have different views and that this article is focused on the originators’ views.
