Bibliography of Ethics in the Quran

“Akhlāq” (morality) is the plural form of the word “kholq” meaning that temper and nature of every human being that cannot be seen by the physical eye. Since the salvation of a society depends on its individuals, moral qualities, the nature of ethics and property of being good or bad, ways ofstrengthening the principles of ethics in society, and other important and diverse topics regarding morality, are always in considerations by scholars. The Holy Quran discusses the issue significantly and in the Muslim religious literature “completion of virtues of ethics” is regarded as the purpose of the Prophet (pbuh)’s Mission. But any research on this topic needs a bright background to be useful and away from repeating in order to push ethics forward. This article has done this important activity with introduction of 303 sources containing 232 Persian, 65 Arabic and 6 English books, paving the way for ethics researchers.
