The Effectiveness of Family Evaporated Model (FEM) Based on Iranian Culture, on Parenting Style and Academic Achievement of Students

Abstract:
In order to improve the academic achievement of children and parenting style according to family evaporated model (FEM) based on Iranian culture, a quasi-experimental study of nonequivalent groups was performed, the sample consisted of thirty couples with an average age of 40 years, how has school age children participated voluntarily and were placed in either an experimental or a control group. The experimental group received education program in 10 sessions (each two hours). All participants answered the Parenting Style Inventory (PSI) in pre and post test. Finally, questionnaires data, Demographic information and the averages of one semester past have been used for analysis and Hypothesises were tested by ANCOVA analysis. Also, the results indicated that the experimental group had significantly higher scores in the posttest than in the pretest phase. As a result, both experimental and qualitative findings suggest that parenting education based on Iranian culture can be used to improve children's academic achievement and parenting styles.
