Maqtal-e-Askariyain (a.s) at a Glance

Abstract:
The progeny of Imam Husain (a.s) and the remainders of the event of Karbala were the first writers of the Maqtal (the history related book about somebody’s character and martyrdom) of this great occurrence after which the tyrant Umavi rulers, who couldn’t stay against the traditions of this grievous incident, attempted to give it a direction and argue their government by distorting this great epic in order that there remain no way for next uprisings. After Bani-Umayyah, Abbasids, who gained the government with the help of slogans of favor with Ahlulbayt (a.s) (the holy progeny of holy Prophet PBUHH) also took the way of Bani-Umayyah ahead and tried to take away the possibility to preach the real Islam and Shia culture from the true followers of Ahlulbayt (a.s) by confining the infallible Imams (a.s) and their followers.
Among all the infallible Imams (a.s), Imam Hadi (a.s) and Imam Askari (a.s) remained in more impasse and intense observation by the Abbasid government whereas both the great Imams (a.s) got martyred by the tyrant caliphs of their times. There isn’t any proper Maqtal written for Imamayn Askariyain (a.s) whereas in some other books of Maqtal, meanwhile the Maqtal of other infallibles (a.s), the Maqtal of these two great Imams (a.s) is also discussed.
This article, meanwhile pointing briefly towards the cause and history of Maqtal writing among Shias, discusses the topics about Maqtal of Askariyain (a.s).
