The present research studies Nezami's "the tale of the evil and the good" in terms of Greimas's actantial model . Among the purposes of the structural analysis of the tale, mention can be made of the specification of the binary oppositions and sequences with the their contractual, performative and disjunctive structures, the better grasping of the structures of tales in Haft Paykar by generalization of the findings of the research to other tales and the efficiency of Greimas's approach for the versified narratives in Iran's classic literature. Nezami's artistry in creation of tales , the narrativity of Haft Paykar and the reputation of " the evil and the good" are the reasons for the selection of Nezami's tales. The research is descriptive-analytical and the findings are analysed using the content analysis technique and Greima's model. The research displays that the hero(subject) and goal (object) are the most central actors in the tale, and the subject( the evil), as a basic pole, plays an active role in the plot of the tale. Also, the research shows the applicability of Greimasian approach to the Persian versified narrative texts.
