The comparison of university student's Information-Seeking Behaviour with using Internet in Arts and science Faculties of Islamic Azad University Dezful Branch

Abstract:
The aim of this study was the comparison of Information-Seeking Behaviour with using Internet in Arts and science university students and it has been done with descriptive method. Research sample consisted of 250 university students who were selected randomly between the Arts and science students of Islamic Azad University Dezfoul Branch. Data needed was gathered by researcher- made questionnaire that was about Information-Seeking Behaviour. Research findings indicated that there was a significant difference between the Arts and science students about the knowledge of using email, using internet throught off line, the kind of used engines, using optimal strategies of search engines and learning how to use the internet. The results also showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups about the ability of setting up a web log, familiarity with internet addresses, the success in retrieving information, using the internet to observe movies and music and familiarity with internet resources.
