A Study of Strategic Aspects, Components and Indexes in Social and Cultural Domains for Choosing the Most Desirable P olitical Center for The Country

The issue of choosing a political center (the capital) or its transfer is a phenomenon that has different theoretical and experimental backgrounds in different regions of the world. It also has a background in Iran and has been a valuable experience. This article is derived from a research project on developing a model for determining the best possible political center for the country considering the social, cultural, geographical, political, and geopolitical fields as well as defense and security, science and technology and economy infrastructures. The present article looks into the cultural and social dimensions and components of such a project and studies the indexes of the components. This is a case study with an eclectic approach. Using a questionnaire and a random sampling method, a sample size of 180 cultural and social experts were selected to gather information. Inferential statistics methods such as test of equality of means, and the self-test, next to Spearman’s correlation coefficient test and Friedman and Wilcoxon rank tests were used for data analysis. The results show that the cultural and social areas with cultural and social dimensions, which include five components and nine leading indicators, play a new role in determining the best possible political center for the country at the present time. One of the other achievements of the research is that the cultural dimension plays a more important role than the social dimension. It also reveals that in choosing the best possible political center for the country, the Islamic identity and culture are more determining than the components of Iranian and revolutionary culture.
