Legal Interpreters in Mādayān ī Hazār Dādesdān

Mādayān ī Hazār Dādestān, The Book of Thousand Judgments, is a Sasanian law-book in Middle Persian language. It is believed to be composed at the dawn of Sasanian era, i.e. the early 7th century A.D. and the mentioned rules in, it belongs to the era before Islam. The names of more than 50 interpreters are mentioned in this book among whom there are 4 mowbeds, 4 mowbedān mowbed and 47 legists. The names of some of these interpreters whose decrees were much quoted can be found among Avestan interpreters as well. Since the number of those legal interpreters named in this book are many, this question comes to the mind that if a legal foundation had been formed in the Sasanian era in which the legists solved the legal problems of the people. The presence of this number of prominent and knowledgeable legists in Pars area can show that a legal foundation had been shaping at the time of khosro parviz i.e., at the time of compiling mādayān ī hazār dādestān that these legists were engaged in solving the legal and judicial problems of people.
