The Impact of the Knowledge of the Citizenship rights on the Feeling of Social Security in the City of Tehran

A feeling of security and providing security is one of the absolute rights of citizens and having knowledge of this and other citizenship rights help the development of societies and are one of the key issues in social planning and policing. Hence, the present study is an attempt to investigate the relationship and impact of the knowledge of citizenship rights on the feeling of security of the citizens living in the city of Tehran.
the study was conducted through a survey. The statistical population consisted of the adult (over the15 years of age) residents of Tehran, among which 400 individual were picked up as sample size through the random cluster sampling technique. Then, the data were collected from the statistical sample using a researcher-made questionnaire. After that, the linear and multivariate regression tests were used to test the hypotheses.
findings: the results of the study indicate that the feeling of security is above average and the knowledge of citizenship rights is below average. The results of the multivariate regression test shows that the dimensions of the knowledge of citizenship rights have a meaningful relationship with the feeling of social security. Also, the standardized coefficients (beta) indicate that the effect of the dimensions of the knowledge of citizenship rights on the dependant variable (i.e. the feeling of social security), per each unit change in the variable, is 0. 487 for the knowledge of social rights, 0.256 for the knowledge of civil rights, 0.203 for the knowledge of economical rights, and 0.164 for the knowledge of political rights .
this study shows that the dimensions of the knowledge of the citizenship rights have direct and positive impact on the feeling of social security. The knowledge of citizenship rights improves the ability to solve social issues and gratifies the citizens. Therefore, increase or decrease in the knowledge of social rights produce change in the feeling of social security.
