Improving Organizational Commitment by Developing Psychological Empowerment in the Libraries of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

The purpose of this article is to examine the relationship between the organizational commitment and the psychological empowerment in the libraries of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
This study is an applied research on the librarians of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Data were collected relying on Allen and Meyer (1990) organizational commitment questionnaire and Spreitzer (1995) psychological empowerment questionnaire.
Findings: The organizational commitment and the psychological empowerment has an average status. Besides, the results show that there is a significant relationship between the psychological empowerment and the organizational commitment.
