Comparative study of bird motifs, worked on ceramics between Iran of Abbasi period and China (9th century)

From Abbasid period, in Iran region, motifs on ceramics advanced. Which were influenced by Chinese importations. Appearing bird motifs on ceramics were very common at that time. So a comparison would be done by identifying formalizes and characteristics design of such motifs that were made during 8th to 13th A.D in Iran and 9th century in China. Then interacting of these motifs on Iranian and Chinese ceramics will survey.
Observing ceramics have been done by librarian method and looking up to related museums for data collection. To study bird motifs of this particular period, artifacts of main pottery centers of Iran as Nishabour, Kashan, Rey and Saveh have been used and surveyed in descriptive way.
After studying Chinese motifs and comparing with contemporary or later samples of Iran, some resemblance points have been observed like locating bird motifs as main part of composition and coordinating motifs and bowl by bending the birds. However the samples differ in several points that proved they were not imitation from each other of commercial relations between these countries. Special unique items in both areas motifs, show the interacting influences with saving the identities between Iran and china.
