A Comparative Study of School Textbooks Special Collections in Islamic Republic of Iran, Germany and Canada

Abstract:
Purpose
The aim of this study is to identify Special Collections of School Textbooks in Germany, Canada and Islamic Republic of Iran.
Methodology
In this study, researcher tries to find similarities and differences in collection development policies and providing information services of these countries in order to provide recommendations for Iran special collection of school textbooks and compared these elements and use the experiences. This study is a comparative descriptive-analytic research. The research population is special collections of school textbooks in the countries studied. The information needed to answer questions from the official websites and library resources of these countries. The model used in this context, is the Bereday model.
Findings: Results showed that there are differences between collection development policies and methods for providing information services in these countries and there are similarities in storage and retrieval.
Conclusion
Special collections of school textbooks and information service policy needs to be revised.
