The Link Between Spirit (rawh), Light (nūr) and tranquility (sakīnah) in the Qur an and Their Function in the Ethical Life of Human

The conceptual, indicative analysis of the Qur’anic words as well as the recognition of their functions and the link between them consist an areas in the Qur’anic studies which has been under the focus of many scholars. The three words, Rawh, Nūr and Sakīnah, whose semantic link requires a lot of contemplation, are among these words. Through the application of an analytical method as well as a pragmatic approach toward these words, the present article seeks to investigate the semantic link between them. In this regard, Allameh Tabatabaei’s viewpoint is also investigated and evaluated. The analysis of the role of Nūr, Rawh and Sakīnah in ethical life of human is the other subject covered in this article.
