The Importance of the Role of Critical Thinking in the Development of the Political Knowledge of the Muslims

Critical thinking is one of the main features of the new age and points to a way of thinking which affects at least three important aspects of life: thoughts, behaviors, and ethics. The goal of criticism is finding faults and critical thinking is a way of thinking about the surrounding issues to detect the inefficiencies. Awareness of the society, establishing the ground for development and innovation, self-correction of the political system and continuance of such a system are among the applications of critical thinking in the political domain. Due to the fact that no critical viewpoint can be free from approach, with the method of critical discourse analysis and three yardsticks of science, religion and ethics, this paper analyzes the impacts of critical thinking on the political knowledge of the Muslims in the mid-Islamic period.
