The effect of family resilience training on mental health of mothers whose children mind retarded

Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of family resiliency training on mental health of mothers whose children was suffered from mental disability in Susa city. This experimental study was pretest-posttest with a control group. Statistical society of this study was mothers who referred to rehabilitation center in the city of Susa in 2015-2016. The sample consisted of 30 mothers who were selected among volunteers and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Mothers in experimental group participated in 9 resiliency training center. At the end, both groups were assessed by posttest. Measurement instrument was Goldberg mental health questionnaire. The results showed that compared with the control group, family resiliency education, mental health and its three dimensions: anxiety, physical dysfunction reduced depression but it had no significant impact in reducing social dysfunction.
