Signs of Persian mysticism and Hinduism in Emerson's transcendentalism

Emerson is one of the American poets that have been much quoted in the twentieth century and his works have been translated into dozens of foreign languages. Even those who have never heard of his name praised the American ideologies that he has helped to create. These Ideologies include personal achievement, enhancing personality, and moral life. Emerson's transcendentalism made literary world face a universal concept. This concept states that there is a spiritual truth beyond the trials and tribulations of daily life. Meanwhile, his writing was never without a touch of realistic pragmatism. Emerson combined ancient classical humanism with Eastern metaphysics in order to approve his philosophical unity of God. He translates what has been expressed in Persian mysticism and Hindu religion into language of modern culture. He revives a new life and new faith in our old commitment. He ensures stability and progress in combining with other facts; the facts that have been revealed and known with intellectual and moral perspectives of modern spirit. Not only has Emerson been known as one of the greatest writers of the world, but also he has been regarded as the first effective person in developing intellectuality of Northern America towards religious patience, mental resources and moral concerns. Since Emerson's poetry is filled with signs of Persian mysticism and Hindu religion, this study attempts to reveal the signs in the transcendentalism of Emerson.
