Manifestations of Expansion (Ascend to Heavenly Universe) in Rumi's Masnavi

Spiritual scholars under the influence of special spiritual inspiration and heavenly devotion gain favor with God and sometimes they are separated from God. While seeking God's favor, they add to the gaiety of their souls and hearts. "Expansion" or gaiety is the state that involves Ultimate's blessing and this state is being relegated to the constriction when there is separation from their divine origin. "Constriction" is the state that God imposes on Sufis and by this way they have been chastised and enlightened. Studying the best known materials and books seems necessary in order to we gain more familiarity with the spiritual and mystical states and terms that have grounded the development of two basic terms, "expansion" and "constriction". For this purposes in this study we will consider the concepts of expansion and constriction in .0, which is the most valuable and most influential exposition in verse written by Mulavi in seventh century. To this end this article incorporates a variety of definitions related to those terms that are categorized under the general topics of expansion and constriction. There are also some examples, explanations and interpretations that extracted from other scholar's detailed commentaries and anecdotes illustrating their rich propositions. This study focuses on those states that help Sufis gain insight into their spiritual path as well as their evolution in this journey towards the Ultimate.
