Holding Lamentation Ceremonies in Favor of Imam al-Husayn: A Quranic Perspective

Holding lamentation ceremonies in favor of Imam al-Husayn has proved a manifest symbol of commemorating Divinely-ordained commemorations. It is due to it that Shiite communities constantly benefit from the Divine grace. Though the origin of such commemoration traces back to the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn and it has never ceased, there have been some people who expressed dissatisfaction in this regard. In answer to their dissident stance, the present paper highlights the Quranic background of commemorating Imam al-Husayn's martyrdom.
