Theoretical Model of Pure Life as the Islamic Revolution's Ideal in Ayatollah Khamenei's Political Thought; A Grounded Theory Approach

The doctrine of utopia in the political thought of Western political philosophy as well as Islamic philosophy attempts to design the desired situation of life, assuring prosperity for humankind and show how to travel from the current situation to get to the desired situation. In Ayatollah Khamenei’s political thought, realizing pure life is one of the most important ideals of the Islamic revolution and rooted in the holy Quran, it is the very means by which the prosperity of humankind in life is reached. According to Quran, believing in God on the one hand, and doing good on the other hand, are two necessary conditions of living a pure life. In Ayatollah Khamenei’s political thought, security, dignity, independence, material welfare and industrious, technological advancement are among the most important material instances of pure life, while spirituality, Islamic ethics, justice and Islamic lifestyle are the most spiritual instances of pure life. Realization of pure life depends on four strategies: spiritual (governance of Islam), material (increasing National Power), leading in civilization and science (global knowledge). Internal obstacles (outbreak of human superego and animal soul) and external obstacles (revolution enemies) are among the threats of pure life realization. This research seeks answering this question using grounded theory approach: “which logic is pure life based on in Ayatollah Khamenei’s political thought?”
