Citizen Oriented Space, New Approach on Sustainable urban development (Case Study: Tehran)

Abstract:
The evolution of the space's concept in the last decade, create a common understanding that space is a social construction and also is a community structures, Taking into account the social rights of citizens as a basis for planning on the other hand, are the theoretical basis of definition of citizenship oriented space. The question that follows is that Tehran’s space within the framework of the concept, scope and definitions citizenship oriented space? Research Methodology in this paper is analytical. The study area is Tehran city. Data collection method is documentary and field (based on questionnaires). The study population included citizens in Tehran. Using Cochran formula, the sample size was 384 people. To determine the variables and measure the components of Tehran’s space was working on the CSI model. Assessing and evaluating this model in Tehran city determined Tehran's space isnt in the context of citizenship oriented space and demonstrate dissatisfaction of citizens and the undesirable. This problem requires that urban planning reform and considering citizenship rights.
