Exploratory analysis of spatial data of monthly and seasonal precipitation changes in Mond & helle interested basins

Abstract:
The aim of Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA) is distinguishing the difference between random and non-random patterns. In this study, 37 meteorological and synoptic stations in the northern region of the Persian Gulf (Mond and helle basin) were used to analysis the spatial changes of precipitation regime, monthly and quarterly. According to the drawn profiles on monthly rainfall in different seasons along the meridians and circuits, the precipitation raised from West to East of basin. Also along the meridians, monthly precipitation had a decreasing trend from north to south of study area. The ESDA of precipitation data in the study area showed that mean centers and standard deviational ellipse located in center and near the high rainy area in winter and spring. But this behavior was very different in summer, because mean centers and standard deviational ellipse of precipitation tended towards South and South East of study area. The analysis of spatial autocorrelation showed that high-high clusters of monthly precipitation in most months except two months of summer (July and August) located in the East and North East and low-low clusters located in West, South and South West of basins.
