Evaluation of Current Production System, Vehicle Manufacturing and Logistics Process and Technology of Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks in Saipa Diesel Company

The purpose of this study is to compare the current production systems, processes and technology of the Volvo trucks Co. and the Renault trucks Co. in the Saipa diesel Co. to analyze the gap between the present and eligible situation and determine priorities for improvement. This study from the viewpoint of goal is applied and from the viewpoint of data collection is non-experimental survey, based on the case study approach. The research population is the experts of Saipa Diesel Company. For sampling, Stratified Sampling method proportionate to the population size based on Krejcie and Morgan table is applied, and finally, 162 people were selected as sample. Information collection method has been in two forms of library study (papers and published domestic and foreign books) and field study via questionnaire. To analyze the data in "production system" and "technology", descriptive and inferential statistics such as Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis and to prioritize the "process", the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method are used. The results showed that in production system, "the goals of the production system", has the maximum distance to the desired position. In addition, in the manufacturing, production and logistics process, "procurement of materials and services" sub process and "staff" should be prioritized in the order presented here.
