Performance Evaluation of the public transportation system (Case study the Khorramabad city of Lorestan Province))

Message:
Abstract:
Taxi transit routes management is facing increasingly serious challenges in every city, and the execution of efficient Taxi management is a pressing issue for municipalities and transportation enterprises. Also, transit systems routing is a hard problem and is effective on construction and operation costs as well as on operational indicators (e.g., ridership, trip speed, trip time decrease, land use modification and environmental impacts). A data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an optimization-based technique used widely to measure relative efficiencies of public transit agencies. This paper evaluates the performance of Taxi routes within a public transit system using the CCR model of the DEA. We construct a conceptual framework of performance evaluation and select appropriate input and output indices to compute the operation efficiency and service effectiveness of each Taxi route. Function-achievement is then analyzed and bus routes, which need to be optimized and regulated, are screened out. Seven Taxi routes of Khorramabad city in Lorestan Province are selected for the practical application.
