Mental Health Research: A Systematic Review

The current study aimed to provide a systematic review of studies conducted between 1996 and 2009 on the college stu-dents’ mental health in Iran. To do so¡ electro-nic and manual search were conducted on some databases (including SID¡ IRANDOC¡ IRANPSYCH)¡ and 51 scientific journals. In total¡ 663 articles were selected and assessed with a researcher-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed from three aspects: structural features¡ topic classifications¡ and practical suggestions and recommendations. Results re-vealed that research conducted in the field of college students’ mental health requires paying more attention to new issues¡ advanced resea-rch methods to improve the quality of research papers¡ and also offering more practical recom-mendations according to research findings.
