The Effect of Using Information Technology on the I.R.I. Railway Company's Managers and Employees Decision Making Process

This paper aims to studying the effect of using Information Technology (IT) on the I.R.I. Railway Company (RAJA)’s managers and employees decision making process. For this purpose, a survey was designed that managers and employees of this company were its statistical population. The tool for data gathering was a questionnaire with 17 questions. With the dispensing 100 questionnaires among the statistical population, 80 questionnaires was answered. The result of t-test shows that managers and employees education with IT, existence of appropriate software, existence of internet access at organization, existence of shared cooperative systems, existence of communication network, presence of IT specialists, and decrease in size of database by using official automation have the effects on the RAJA’s mangers and employees’ decision making improvement. The result of Friedman test shows that presence of IT specialists, existence of communication network, managers and employees education with IT, existence of internet access at organization, decrease in size of database by using official automation, existence of appropriate software, and shared cooperative systems have the most effect on the RAJA’s mangers and employees’ decision making improvement, respectively.
