The Relationship between Velayah and Republic in Thought of Ayatollah Khamenei

Studying and noticing the political thought of Ayatollah Khamenei is increasing in Iran and even the world. This is not just because of his responsibility and Velayah, but is also due to his scientific position and modern intellectual bases in political issues and macro management of the Islamic society. In this paper, by using the ontological and humane foundations of Ayatollah Khamenei and on basis of a methodological exploration and enjoying systemic theoretical framework, we have analyzed the relationship between republic and velayah in his intellectual framework. The main claim of the paper is that in the political thought of Ayatollah Khamenei, while setting attribution of Velayah as legitimate, republic and the vote of people have their own important and specific role both of which creates mutual rights and duties for each part: the ruler (Valii) and the republic.
