The Comparison of Marital Quality and Psychological Well Being among dual-career couples and single-career couples

Abstract:
AIM: the aim of this study compare the marital quality and psychological well-being of dual-career and singlecareer couples.
Method
Research method was descriptive by causal-comparative. The study population was all the men and women married employed and unemployed in Kerman city. 600 men and women married who were selected using multistage random. They responded to the marital quality questionnaire (2012) and Riff’s psychological well-being scale (1980). The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance.
Results
result showed that marital quality and psychological wellbeing was lower in dual-career than single-career couples.
Conclusion
Therefore¡ dual-career couples seem to be at a greater risk for marital conflict which can lead to separation and reduced job efficiency.
