Effectiveness of Group Narrative Therapy on Anxiety and Depression of PTSD Patients

The current study is to determine the effectiveness of short term group narrative therapy on decreasing mood symptoms (anxiety and depression) in patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The population of the study included all the women between the ages 25-35 referred to the psychotherapy center located in the 1st area of Tehran city. Available sampling was used for the study which included 18 individual who were selected from 143 referred patient who were diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and had depression and anxiety above the cutting line, using Lovibond (1995) depression and anxiety questionnaire and citizen scale of Mississippi (1988) for post-traumatic stress disorder, and clinical interview. The sample was divided into two experiment and control groups with 9 individuals in each group. The experiment group joined the 90 minute group therapy sections while the control group received no intervention. A week after the termination of the sections, both groups had post-test.
