Glutamic Acid Activity As A Natural and Green Organocatalyst For The Synthesis of 2، 3-Dihydroquinazolin-4 (1H) -One Derivatives Under Solvent-Free Conditions

Quinazolinones have been extensively contained a broad range of biological and pharmacological activities. Because¡ in this work¡ we reported the synthesis of 2¡3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives from the reaction between anthranilamide and aldehydes under solvent-free conditions in the presence of an amino acid named glutamic acid as a natural¡ ecofriendly¡ inexpensive¡ and nontoxic catalyst. In addition to¡ this methodology offers several advantages such as the purification¡ easy¡ methods¡ excellent yields¡ short reaction time¡ easy access and mild reaction conditions.
