Co-word Analysis Concept, Definition and Application

In the last half century, the science literature has increased dramatically and caused some difficulties. Therefore, some quantitative techniques have been developed for improvement. Co-word analysis is one of these techniques in scientometrics.
Review of literature.
The structure, application, method and hypothesis of this method are reviewed and algorythms and techonologies of implementation also discussed.
Co-word analysis is used to detect science fields more accurately by discovering the co-occurrence frequency of words and phrases. It can also reveal hidden linkage between concepts and help in development of hierarchy in ontologies.
