Priority of Dimensions and Criteria for Promoting Social Security in Urban Distressed Structures

Today, the social security reduction in cities is a result of the city's overwhelming growth and lack of security. New approaches to environmental design emphasize that considering the physical structure of urban spaces and the formulation and application of special rules in them, a considerable amount of urban crime can be prevented and "crime prevention through environmental design" can be used to reduce or prevent crime and improve the quality of life.
The methodology of this study has an analytical-descriptive approach. The principles of research are provided by library and documentary review. In this research, after expressing the concepts related to the subject of research as well as the necessity and importance of addressing this issue, the authors review the background of physical design theories for the prevention of environmental crimes and after extracting the components, dimensions and indicators that affect social security enhancement based on the views of the intellectuals of this field, they have developed an analytical model related to the topic of research, and then a questionnaire is developed based on the indicators expressed in this analytical model.
Findings: Using t-test, correlation analysis, simple and multivariate regression the case in question was measured. Finally, the accuracy of the explained conceptual model was confirmed.
The results of statistical analyses show that the sense of ownership component (Territoriality) has the greatest role in promoting the social security of urban distressed structures as compared to other components.
