The possibility of using proper techniques of participation urban design based on social context and capacities - location (Case study: Mashhad Noghan market)

Today, needs of public participation in improvement of cities status is not unknown. But in urban design, this requirement in many cases ignored and demands of the people remain missing. As the art of qualifying public spaces, its activities’ platform is urban environment and space, given the social, ethnic and historical features of citizens and structural and physical requirements, urban design tends to make the urban space more at the service of the people and in this regard, in addition to the welfare of citizens, meet their emotional and psychological needs. The ultimate goal of urban design is designing to improve people’s living environment who live in the city or context. Urban design focused on making places for people is the process of creating a better place for people and this includes the four concepts; urban planning for and about the people, places and valuable urban space, urban design influenced by political forces (laws) and the market economy, urban design as a process. Some urban design and the art of shaping the places design in urban areas know. The main emphasis in urban design issues such as creating a place of interdisciplinary, public areas, group activities, interactive creation and social justice and civil participation. Accordingly, some urban design expression and citizen participation in the public life knows that not only the location but also takes time.
