The What of Imamate as Viewed by Sunni Commentators under the Verse Ibtila

Abstract:
Imamate along with various approaches has been regarded of particular place in the history of Islamic thought. God, the Exalted, has presented it in some Quranic verses also and Fariqain commentators have presented various views on imamate under the verses. The paper has intended to study Sunni views in the field. as is understood, Sunni commentators have viewed imamate as is perceived by its word, that is, being an example and a purpose and some viewed as prophecy. As is concluded in the paper, generally saying, some Sunni commentators have known imamate as something not independent of prophecy. Such an attitude of the verse may not be taken from and supported by the verse; rather it is based upon their theological views.
