Investigation of student's attitudes towards the role and function of the press in political development

This research is designed to study the role of press in the political development The statistical society of this research includes all students of Islamic Azad University of Qaemshahr. Among them, we have randomly selected 320 students applying the Kerjeisi & Morgan sample size table. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect the required data. In order to validate the instrument, appropriate questions related to each variable were extracted from valid sources and finally approved them by authorities. In order to calculate the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach’s alpha was calculated to be 88% since the distribution of the data was normal, parametric statistical tests were used to testify the hypotheses. Results show that the press can be effective in political participation, political legitimacy, political trust and political culture of civil liberty.
