The Feasibility of Using Nuclear Technology in the Development of the Knowledge-Based Economy

Theorists predicted the emergence of the new economic era that which knowledge is the main source of wealth and economic output. In other words, in a new era the economy is away from the resource economics foundation and is close to the knowledge-based economy. Knowledge-based economy based on the production, distribution and use of knowledge and formed information and investment in knowledge and knowledge-based industries are particular interest. Because of the position of the knowledge-based economy, emphasis Leader and special attention to the implementation, this paper was provided according to the analytical and descriptive based on documents, has been reviewed the literature of the knowledge economy and the use of nuclear technology in the growth and development of knowledge-based economics. The results show that due to the diverse applications of nuclear technology in different sectors, its adaptation to the definition of the APEC economic committee on the knowledge-based economy, having positive externalities on other sectors and, most importantly, having characteristics of the knowledge-based economy, nuclear technology is considered as an example of the knowledge-based technology. The further, development of nuclear technology and invest in it is considered to be the growth and development of the knowledgebased economy.
