The study of the relationship between social support and quality of relationships with student's mental health

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between quality of relationships and social support with mental health in students. This research is a correlation and regression research. The research population consisted of students from Marvdasht Islamic Azad University, among whom 150 were selected as convenience sampling. The research tools used in this research were Sherbourne Social Support, Pierce and Associates Quality of Relationship and Goldberg General Health questionnaires. After the preparation, questionnaires were provided to the students and they were asked to answer the questionnaire questions. In this study, 65 male and 85 female students responded to the questionnaires. After completion of answering the questions, the questionnaires were collected and entered into the SPSS software for analysis. Findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between social support and mental health of students and the quality of mental health and quality of relationships of students; and these two variables significantly predict 40% of the variance in mental health score in students. In the end, it can be concluded that the network of human communities and the relationships with the quality of friendship of a person with family and friends can create psychological and mental conditions in a person that ensures the mental health of individuals.
