The Postmodern Features in the Collection Stories of Bizhan Najdi's The Leopards Who Have Run with Me

Abstract:
This study has examined the characteristics of the postmodern in collection of stories of The Leopards Who Have Run With Me by Bizhan Najdi. This article is a critical reading of this collection of stories. It is based on postmodern theories of Patricia Waugh, Barry Lewis, David lodge and Linda Hutcheon. Due to some features of the postmodernism in this collection of stories, we may call it post-modern story. The Leopards Who Have Run With Me contains ten stories. Among these stories, only six of them like The Pool Full of Nightmares, My Button Eyes, Send Me to The Tunnel, The Isolated Plants… have postmodernism features like uncertainty, incoherence, change perspective, irregular narrative, meta-fiction, the combination of imagination and reality. Finally, it seems that, these stories have both of the modern and post-modern features. So they cannot be simply regarded as modern or postmodern story.
