Review and Critique of «the Threshold of Modernity»

A scientific meeting on the criticism of the book written by Davood Firahi entitled "the Threshold of the Modernity" was held by Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Seyed Javad Varaeei; associate professor at the faculty of Islamic jurisprudence and law affiliated to the Research Institute of Hawzah and University in Cultural and Research Institute of Fahim. This book was a detailed description on "Tanbih al-Ummah wa Tanzih Al-Milla" (the awakening of the community and refinement of the nations) written by Allama Mohammad Hussein Naini Qaravi. This scientific event was held by the participation of various researchers, university students and Hawzah clerics. In that session, the author initially explained his methodology in the explanation and interpretation of the Allama Naini's precious work and outlined the features of the new interpretation in comparison with the previous studies on that book. According to the author of "the Threshold of the Modernity" in this new description and interpretation of Allama Naini's noteworthy work, he benefitted from the marginal notes of Ayatollah Taleghani on the third edition of Naini's work and also the other version of the book published by Bustan Ketab Publishing, corrected and surveyed by Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Seyed Javad Varaeei. Then the critic of the session described the advantages of this new book as well as its problems in terms of form and content. Next, both author and critic presented their explanations about form and content drawbacks of the new work and in the other part, they answered the participant's questions.
