Modeling of personality traits on job performance mediating role of psychological empowerment

Abstract:
Background
The aim of this study was to investigate the role of psychological empowerment mediating the relationship between personality characteristics and job performance of Kermanshah Province Gas Company.
Methods
350 Total number of sampling were selected. Data from the Big Five personality scale neo-scale job performance and mental function questionnaire was collected. To validate the collected questionnaires, the methods of descriptive statistics, regression and correlation analysis, path analysis was used.
Results
According to the results, we can say that among personality characteristics only personality trait of responsibility can predict job performance.
Conclusion
psychological empowerment in addition to the organizational benefits, has benefits for employees as well. Employees who see themselves as powerful, report less conflict and role ambiguity and also report more control over their environment. Therefore, it is recommended that managers of enterprises and institutions pay more attention to psychological empowerment to promote job performance.
