Abstract:
The reflexivity of historical knowledge and the role of historical researches in determining and defining the domain of social authoritative forces in traditional societies have led to the recognition of the foundations of knowledge and the validation of this field to be an undeniable necessity. As a result of this importance and the effect of assumption among the philosophers of history of ideal knowledge as an objective representation of the world in the mirror of the mind, any second rate analysis about historical knowledge inevitably recognizes the importance of subject (historian) in the knowledge productions (history as narrative). With respect to this condition, the question of whether historians discover the historical narratives or construct them constitute an important step in unraveling the issues which confront the historical knowledge. The strategy of the present paper is a conceptual clarification of Constructionism or Realism, two classic responses to the question of this paper, and also to unravel the logic of historical thinking.
