The Effectiveness of Self-Compassion Training on Increase of Mothers ́Resiliency with Autistic Children

Abstract:
The present study investigated the effectiveness of self-compassion training on the increase mothers´ resiliency with autistic children by the quasi-experimental method and was performed by pre-test and post-test with the control group. The population under study was mothers of children with autism who referred to the Center of Yavarane Zeinab in Esfahan. Twenty-four mothers who were selected randomly and assigned to experimental and control groups completed the autism Scale (Cars, 1988) and resilience Scale (Conner and Davidson, 2003) were used. Experimental group trained weekly 7 sessions of self- compassion in two-hour and the control group did not receive any intervention. At the end of training, both groups were assessed. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance.
