Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to predict motorcyclist's sensation-seeking based on personality traits and time perspective. The research method is descriptive co relational. The statistical population of this research is all motorcyclists in Tehran. In order to uniformly distribute the samples, four regions were selected Tehran's categorized areas via cluster sampling. In each of the areas, the most frequent fields were selected for data collection. In each field, 30 motorcyclists were randomly selected and examined. Finally, 120 motorcyclists were selected as the sample group. The tools used in this research were Zuckerman's emotional scales (1992), Neo's Five Personality Traits (1985) and Zimbardo Time Spell (1999). The results showed that there is a significant relationship between personality factors, extroversion and openness with sensation-seeking at the level of 5%, and the positivity of these coefficients actually indicates that with increasing these factors, the level of sensation-seeking also increases. Also, the time perspective has a significant negative relationship with emotion. The negativity of this factor actually indicates that with increasing this factor, the amount of sensation-seeking decreases.
