NGOs Participation as a Friend of the Court in the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea

One of the forms of participation of international non-governmental organizations in international proceedings is intervention as a "Friend of the Court". Through this legal institution, they can present their remarks in writing or orally on the facts and the laws governing the claim to the court. But reaction of International judicial and quasi-judicial authorities to this Institution has been different. Meanwhile, the approach of International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea has been flexible, unlike International Court of Justice, which have avoided accepting the remarks of Friends of Court. Therefore, the current research aims at presenting flexibilities in judicial procedures of the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea in light of recent Precedent of that court.
