The Effect of Cultural and Educational Content of Book on Psychological Problems: The Case of Children in Cancer

Aim and The purpose of this study is to review the emergence of the bibliotherapy process and related approaches. As a low cost method, this study further analyzes the educational and cultural discourse of books and its potential effects on psychological, neurotic and behavioral treatment of children who are suffering from cancer.
This study, after examining the dynamic role of bibliotherapy in treating the entire personality of persons concluded that the story is a tool for helping children, adolescents, patients and others dealing with physical, mental and psychological problems. The story eliminates social isolation and creates a sense of belonging in the patient. Many psychologists, psychiatrists and librarians recommend suitable reading books as a part of the patient's treatment process. The interaction between children's book authors, psychologists and librarians lead to a proper movement in the field of bibliotherapy, in particular, for children in cancer. On the other hand, this collaboration will make publishers, librarians, and clinical psychologists to classify and recommend good books on the market in a targeted way for specific problems for readers and children with special needs.
