Cyberspace and the Youth Spiritual-Identity Indices: Case Study: Tehran

Appreciating and recognizing the effects of cyberspace on thoughts, social-cultural behavior, and shaping the spiritual and identity indices, in other words shaping the life style, especially among the youth is an important issue. This paper, thus, tries to analyze and explain this issue focusing on cyberspace role in making the youth spiritual and identity indices using cultural globalization. Documentary research and second analysis of data are two methods used in this research. First, we analyzed the collected data and then reanalyzed the findings of the research to answer the research questions. The findings showed that Tehran is in such a way that people, especially the youth, are interested in using social networks, accordingly they have made virtual societies. Virtual networks influence users, particularly the youth, in Tehran very much and affect different dimensions of their identity. In analytical level, the correlation between modern media (cyberspace) and different dimensions of values show that the most correlation is between conventionalism and inclination to modernism. There is also a correlation to changing friendliness, sex sketches, and individualism. This indicates that social networks, regardless of their contents, dramatically influence individual identity.
