Determinant Factors which Influence Knowledge Sharing among Faculty Members of the University of Medical Sciences

Today, in educational organizations, especially universities, the development of knowledge sharing culture is one of the most important factors for success in achieving organizational goals. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying and explaining the factors affecting knowledge sharing among faculty members of the Ardabil University of Medical Sciences.
This qualitative study was of exploratory type. Sampling framework was all faculty members of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. Fourtheen of who were selected in a targeted way. Subjects included 14 deputies, educational managers and key experts who had experience in management or studies in this field. Research Data were collected through semi-structured deep interviews and continued until information saturation. Data analysis was performed by qualitative content analysis method based on open and axial coding.
According to the findings of this study, the main factors affecting knowledge sharing are six factors: individual-humanistic (eight components), organizational-institutional (nine components), cultural (six components), technological (five components) and leadership-management (six components). These are the most frequent and more important factors in sharing knowledge than other factors.
The results indicate that the individual and organizational factors of the university have the most impact on knowledge sharing in Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. This finding suggests the need to pay more attention to individual and organizational factors during the development of knowledge culture among faculty members in the university.
