Neutralize of biochemical effects of iron nano-particles in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) using Lactobacillus probiotic (Lactobacillus)

Nanoparticles as new emerging contaminant in body water cause stress response in aquatics and specially fishes that could affect physiological condition of fish and reduce their immune function. Hence the use of safety stimulators such as probiotics seems necessary. A total of 250 fry carp were divided for 42 days in three categories of without probiotics, probiotics level A (106) and fish probiotics Level B (107). Then each group exposed at 50% lethal concentration of nano-iron for 10 days. The serum biochemical parameters were then measured using an ELISA plate reader, SYSMEX device and the commercial kits. Probiotics alone hadn’t significant effect on glucose, direct and total bilirubin (0.05≤P), but had a significant effect on the protein and leads to reduce this index. Nano iron increased protein and decreased direct and total bilirubin (P≤0.05), but had no significant effect on glucose. The combined use of probiotics and nano iron caused a sharp decline of direct and total bilirubin and increase the protein (P≤0.05), but had no significant effect on glucose index (0.05≤ P). In general, probiotics and iron compound lead to reduce and mitigate the protein and reduce the escalating effects of nano irons on this index. But there was no significant effect of probiotics on three indices of glucose, total and direct bilirubin
